The Space/Movement Project
missionmembers collaboratorsThe Space/Movement Project is a collective of dance artists who
operate without a defined artistic leader. We work to
democratically combine different voices into a single artistic
statement, and to create work that reflects upon developments
in contemporary dance forms.
We welcome the struggle of making collective work because
we see the potential for our growth through collaboration,
both within our company and with artists working in
other media.
By providing a forum for ongoing dialogue and sharing financial
and creative resources, the collective empowers artists to create
increasingly meaningful work and to pursue individual artistic
objectives. Our constant challenge is to develop an effective
means through which we can expand our creative
process.
TS/MP was formed in 2005 in Chicago. Since its formation, the
company has premiered thirty-three dance works created by
twelve choreographers, utilizing seventeen performers, six
musicians, three videographers, one actor, four lighting
designers, and one set designer. TS/MP has also participated in
many festivals and artist showcases in and around the city.
