Safety In Numbers
July 2009
Hamlin Park Fieldhouse, Chicago, IL
This dance concert explored the Chicago-based backgrounds of
individual company members’ ancestries and how experience affects
personal movement tendencies. As we identified the differences between
each of us as newcomers or natives, we noticed a common desire for
comfort and familiarity whether through the anonymity of a large city
or proximity to home. Safety in Numbers is a reflection of these
findings. The concert featured choreography by Allyson Esposito, Anne
Kasdorf, Maggie Koller, Leah Raffanti, Megan Schneeberger and Stacy
Wolfson. TS/MP collaborated once again with Seattle-based musician
Jeff Forrest to create a sound score for the concert.
